James Goyder - PR

I can use my extensive experience of freelance journalism and extensive network of contents to provide a highly specific PR writing service. I can strategically place articles in the media and write press releases which will be instantly publishable. I can also turn around copy at speed and am used to covering live events and working to deadlines.

Martial Combat

I was hired to help raise the profile of Martial Combat, ESPN Star Sports brand new MMA show. Martial Combat is the biggest MMA promotion in the region and held 12 MMA shows at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore in 2010. Every show was broadcast by ESPN Star Sports to 24 Asian countries.

I helped to raise the international profile of the show by identifying interesting and newsworthy article ideas. I placed articles relating to Martial Combat MMA websites such as MMA Mania, Bloody Elbow, Bleacher Report and South East Asian MMA, MMA magazines such as Scrapp! Magazine, Fighters Magazine, Combat Magazine and Fighters Only and newspapers such as The Local (in Sweden), Manila Standard Today in the Philippines and The New Paper in Singapore.

I was also able to idenify interesting and unusual article ideas which I knew would appeal to the media in order to maximize the press coverage which the event would receive. For instance I wrote an article about a fighter who had fled from Afghanistan to Sweden as a child which appeared in a Swedish newspaper, an article about a fighter who was also a full time dentist which appeared in a Filipino newspaper and an article about a female fighter who had turned her back on a teaching career to become a full time fighter which appeared in a Thai newspaper. I also produced previews, live fight by fight reports and a press release at the end of every show.

The Football Fund

The Football Fund utilized my extensive knowledge of football and the media to help manage its PR. I was responsible for updating The Football Fund website with content, managing the Twitter feed, writing and distributing press releases and generally liasing with the media. I have also ghost written speeches for former footballers such as ex Liverpool and England midfielder Steve McMahon.

King's Cup Regatta

I was first employed by the King's Cup Regatta, Asia's most prestigious yachting event, in 2008. Working in a team of two I produced a daily newspaper bulletin which was distributed at the end of every day's racing. This involved researching and writing a numnber of innovative story ideas. In 2010 I was hired as a contractor to provide PR services for the King's Cup Regatta which involved writing a series of press releases as well as daily race reports.

Muangthong United

Muangthong United are the reigning Thai Premier League Champions and one of the best supported teams in Thailand. The club was looking for more publicity in the Western media and I was able to place articles in Aftonbladet, The Daily Mail, The Bangkok Post and Goal.com.
